“Waterloo” Project, pt.2- 3ème Bataillon, 1er Régiment d’Infanterie de Ligne

My first unit for “Waterloo” is finished, the 3rd Battalion of the 1st Line Regiment. I started with the 3rd Battalion because I have some regimental figures from Perry Miniatures for the 1st Battalion that I need to order. About 1/5 of the miniatures here were used before for 28mm Lasalle, and have been rebased.

This is the battalion with the maximum amount of companies. The French get 1 command company stand plus up to 5 additional company stands in a regiment, a stand being made up of 6 figures. Though in “Waterloo” a “company” is simply a game organization, it matches up well to the number of companies in an actual French battalion, 6, if some 1st company figures are mixed into the command stand.

  1. Very nice!
How much frontage per figure? I love the highlighting of trousers, uniforms, greatcoats. Only one possible criticism: isn’t the flag pole slightly bent?
    Seriously, great job!

    • Thanks!

Hmm, I hadn’t noticed on the flag pole. Maybe it is.

I’m doing the figures on a 20mmx20mm base, but the frontage is actually based on the trays or stands for the figures. In our case, we’re doing a 60mm frontage, 40mm depth per stand. The game is very flexible and gives a range that the frontage should fall into.
