A Pair of Online Competition Entries- Red Lancer Trumpeter and Champion Swordsman

So I entered a couple of figures into two very separate painting competitions, the Steve Dean Competition, where I entered the French Red Lancer Trumpeter below, and the Warhammer Empire competition, where I entered 3 figures. And the results couldn’t be more different. The Trumpeter is currently being destroyed in the Steve Dean competition…no chance of getting out of the first round, but one of the figures in the Warhammer-Empire contest tied for 1st place in the judges round, and now is far out ahead in the voting round (forum members voting to break the tie) with 67% of the votes. My other 2 entries tied each other for 5th place (35 entries total). What’s odd is I actually thought the Trumpeter was much better hahah, though I didn’t expect it to go too far in the competition. So it looks like it’ll be a First Place finish and a dead last finish.

  1. They both look great to me!

It is funny how different people interpret a painted model.

    Good luck with the Competition!

    • Thanks Allen. The trumpeter took much longer to paint than the swordsman, but in the end, after taking a “step back”, the swordsman is the better of the two. The trumpeter was tough to get right.
